Community yoga

Community yoga is a way to broaden our yoga community and bring the experience we love to more people through these classes.  With community yoga, there are no set fees.  You may make a donation; use your yogi pass, a 10- pack or a 5-pack.  Donation yoga allows you to try these classes without making a commitment and allows you to donate whatever is comfortable and appropriate for you on that day for that class.  donation, or "dakshina" as it is called in sanskrit, is an age old tradition in yoga.  In return for the immeasurable gifts of greater understanding that were given, students offered their teacher whatever they could afford.  The donation was referred to as guru dakshina.  It was a sacred offering of gratitude and respect by the student to their teacher.  We hope the availability of these classes allows more people to experience the joy and benefits of yoga...ALL WEEKEND classes are COMMUNITY YOGA!

Meditation

In the Meditation class you will learn different techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy (chi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity ad forgiveness.  Meditation often involves an internal effort to self-regulate the mind in some way.  Meditation can help clear the mind and ease many health issues, such as high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety to name a few.

Restorative Yoga

We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely.

During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the "good cholesterol" levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue.  Come take the Restorative class and see what relaxation can do for you.
